Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV arrives in Puerto Rico

San Juan, Puerto Rico – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Caribbean, Inc. (MMSC), announces the arrival of the next generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV model. The world’s best-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) will be available for the month of December at all 14 authorized dealers. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features a bold design. Its styling and interior are surprisingly luxurious and comfortable. Additionally, flexibility in passenger accommodation is shared with the 2022 Outlander, a vehicle that has broken Mitsubishi’s sales records and attracted attention since its initial launch in the United States in the second quarter of 2022.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV model is designed to offer 38 miles of all-electric range, with a 350-volt lithium-ion battery, and 20 kWh capacity mounted under the floor and between the wheels for a low center of gravity, but with Minimal ground clearance loss. This achieves a 40% improvement in the range of the model over the previous one. Using a level 3 charger, the unit can recharge to 80% capacity in approximately 38 minutes; The 2023 Outlander PHEV is the only plug-in hybrid model in Puerto Rico that offers a unique feature of fast charging (Level 3 capability); in the SUV segment. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is equipped with a new generation of twin-motor Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)2 system from Mitsubishi Motors. This uses the gasoline engine and the front electric motor to drive the front wheels, apart from a separate rear electric motor that drives the rear axle. Both electric motors are more powerful than before, with the front making 114 horsepower and the rear making 134 horsepower, bringing the power of the combined electric motor system to 248 horsepower, and 332 pound-feet of torque.
