The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder builds on a long heritage for families looking to do more, offering a strong, refined design, an impressive range of technology and the flexibility expected by today’s drivers.
The Nissan Pathfinder was all-new for the 2022 model year, marking a “return to rugged” with a bold design and notable capability. For the 2023 model year, Pathfinder helps owners take more adventurous journeys with the addition of an off-road-inspired Rock Creek grade, designed for drivers with the desire to venture away from the pavement.
Pathfinder Rock Creek features off-road-tuned suspension and a 5/8-inch suspension lift, 18-inch beadlock-style wheels with all-terrain tires, a tubular roof rack with a 220-pound capacity4, a tow hitch receiver and harness with 6,000-pound maximum towing capability3, LED fog lights, Intelligent Around View® Monitor with Off-Road Mode, orange interior stitching and second-row captain’s chairs. Rock Creek has standard Intelligent 4WD and its 3.5-liter V6 engine is enhanced to deliver increased available horsepower and torque5 (versus standard Pathfinder grades) when using premium fuel. 5
Also for 2023, Pathfinder SL adds a standard wireless device charging pad, while Pathfinder Platinum offers a new Platinum Captain’s Chairs package (second-row captain’s chairs with a removable second-row console). The 2023 Pathfinder SL and Platinum also add a 10-way power passenger seat.
The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is on sale now with a choice of five well-equipped grades – S, SV, Rock Creek, SL and Platinum – with a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)6 of $35,000. (See full pricing details for all 2023 Pathfinder grades.)
Strength and capability
Pathfinder features a proven 3.5-liter direct-injection V6 engine rated at 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, with Rock Creek rated for up to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft with premium fuel5. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission designed to help provide strong, confident acceleration. Standard idle stop/start helps save fuel when stationary, such as waiting at a traffic light. Fuel economy7 for Pathfinder is rated at up to 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined for four-wheel-drive models.
Available Intelligent 4WD provides even greater driving confidence on a variety of surfaces. The system features a Drive and Terrain Mode switch that helps optimize power delivery depending on the situation, with seven available modes: Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut and Tow.
Pathfinder delivers 3,500 pounds of standard towing capacity on S, SV and SL with 6,000 pounds standard on Rock Creek and Platinum and available on SV and SL.

In addition, the Pathfinder features standard Intelligent Driver Alertness, Rear Door Alert and rear sonar sensors. Available driver-assistance features include Intelligent Around View® Monitor, Blind Spot Intervention, front sonar sensors and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Pathfinder keeps drivers informed with a standard 7-inch digital meter display, an available 12.3-inch full-color digital dashboard and an available 10.8-inch head-up display. Intuitive entertainment and connectivity are provided by a standard 8-inch or available 9-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Pathfinder SL and Platinum feature wireless Apple CarPlay® and a wireless device charger, and a Bose® 13-speaker premium audio system is standard on Platinum and available on SL.
To help everybody keep their devices and accessories charged, Pathfinder features four standard USB ports (five on SL, six on Platinum) and an available 120-volt second-row power outlet (Platinum only).
Highway driving made simpler with ProPILOT Assist
For road trips and other long highway journeys, Pathfinder drivers will appreciate the availability of ProPILOT Assist2. The advanced, hands-on driver assistance feature combines steering assist and Intelligent Cruise Control to help control acceleration, braking and steering in both heavy highway traffic and on the open highway. The system uses a forward-facing camera, forward-facing radar and other sensors to help keep Pathfinder centered in its lane. In stop-and-go traffic, ProPILOT Assist can even bring the vehicle down to a complete stop and hold it in place until traffic moves again. ProPILOT Assist is standard on Pathfinder SV and Rock Creek.
ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link (standard on Pathfinder SL and Platinum) elevates the system’s performance by using data from the navigation system to proactively adjust the vehicle’s speed before curves and freeway exits2.
A spacious and flexible interior
The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder provides impressive interior space, with three rows of seats and standard seating for eight (seven with optional second-row captain’s chairs). The EZ FLEX® second-row seats conveniently tip forward to provide access to the third row, and feature Nissan’s LATCH AND GLIDE™ technology, allowing them to tip and slide even while a child safety seat is installed8.
Additional interior features include standard tri-zone automatic climate control and available leather-appointed and premium semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, 10-way power front seats, heated rear seats, ambient interior lighting and a panoramic moonroof.
Pathfinder’s cargo area has a generous 16.6 cubic feet of storage with all rows of seats upright – enough to fit four golf bags – expanding to 80.5 cubic feet with the second and third rows lowered. A power liftgate, available on SV and standard on SL, and a motion-activated power liftgate on Platinum make loading and unloading items even easier.
