Ford records extraordinary growth in Puerto Rico during 2021

Ford Puerto Rico announced the results of its sales on the Island during 2021, which reflected an extraordinary performance, despite the production constraints experienced worldwide.

Ford became the best-selling American brand in Puerto Rico during 2021, with 12,124 units sold.

While the industry as a whole saw 35% growth, Ford recorded 54% growth compared to 2020. This represents a market share of 9.4% vs. 8.1% in 2020 and 7.4% in 2019.

For the fifth year in a row, Ford F-Series pickups achieved the sales leadership in their segment. Ford also maintains its leadership in commercial vehicles, a segment in which it has a share of more than 70%. On the other hand, the iconic Ford Mustang remains the leader in the sports car segment, where it has more than 80% share.

During 2021, Ford introduced the new 4×4 vehicles of the legendary Bronco brand on the island, including the Bronco Sport compact SUV and the Bronco four-door off-road SUV. In addition, at the end of the year it introduced the new Maverick compact pickup, built on the renowned Built Ford Tough platform, and positioned for a new segment of consumers who do not yet know they need a pickup.
